What is SEO?

The acronym “SEO” stands for search engine optimization and it is about improving the ranking of non-paid (organic) sections of the search results.

To understand the SEO one must know what a search engine is and does it work.

A search engine is an algorithm working which brings you the best results that it considers the “best”.

Premium and free SEO tools are used to optimize the content and website for search engines. There are hundreds of tools that can be used for this purpose by combining them together for a better seo results. For instance, paraphrasing tool and plagiarism checker can be used for content writing. Keywords finder and readability checker can be used to avoid keyword stuffing.

Now how does a search engine find you the best answer to your query is the question?

To discover the correct answer, search engines have to categorize the billions of websites that make up the internet. They breakdown the masses of information and data and try to make the decision about how well the answer fits your query.

It finds answers based on relevancy to your question, site speed, quality of the content and metadata. Although Google has not made the inner working of the algorithm public but we have the rough idea that websites are ranked on the basis of the following steps:

Relevancy

Let’s say you are looking for the recipe for vanilla cake. Google will look for the websites which include these keywords.

Usefulness

Content should be useful for it to be placed at the top. Search engines would not position the website at top of the results if it’s not useful.

Authenticity

Google search engine has the authority to select a website. The quality of the website is determined by a number of means. For example, it will look for the number of links and pages that are associated with it. To put it in simpler words, if your website is linked to a normal blog and our website is linked to BBC.com, the chances of appearing my site on the top will be higher.

There are additional components which determine the rank of a website

Uniqueness of the content

The loading speed of your site

Number of people who engage with the website

Conclusively, it will be very beneficial for the bloggers to understand the algorithm as it helps to produce the content that ranks better in each platform. There are numerous factors that have proven to improve the search engine ranking for bloggers.

The following are the 10 steps that you can follow to enhance the ranking of your blog.

Upgrade the quality

The ultimate SEO trick is to enhance the quality of content within the range of relevancy. There is no shortcut for creating quality content. If you want to rank higher in Google, just try to create the page that is best on the internet on that particular topic.

Aesthetics of the website

Graphics play a huge role in search engine rankings. Let’s say people land on your site, they take a look around and just don’t like what the website looks like. He probably won’t spend another two seconds on the website. This is the reason you need to design the site in a way that attracts the user. For that, try to add details, videos, and links, etc. Do not only rely on tags and keywords.

Featured snippets

Featured snippets are one way to get the most out of your blog content. These are shown first in the search results along with image, video or a table. Optimizing the content with featured snippets will help you to drive the more traffic on the blog.

Improve the speed of site

One way to stand out among your competitors is to enhance the speed of your site and make it user friendly. There is no other way around it. If the site is not mobile optimized, it will hinder the experience of the user and will adversely affect the website. It is believed to be the most important factor in reducing the bounce off time.

Optimize URLs

URL is an unusual fingerprint which holds a special location of the website on the internet. A URL should be completely readable and there should be no underscore and capital letters in the URLs. Do not use special characters in the URLs. It makes them look suspicious. Include the exact keywords and phrases in the URL whenever possible. It helps in increasing the ranking as well as in authentication of content for Google.

Select the formats that have the best chance of driving traffic

There are certain blog formats that get more social shares and links. Blog posts that take a side on strong issues and those which have an in-depth analysis are more likely to get a higher ranking in search engines.

Keep the number of links in page minimum

While it is recommended to bloggers that links should be added on a page, but Google suggests the number should be under 100. This is not for the search purposes in fact it advised based user experience purposes.

A great title

It can be claimed that the title is the most effective piece of tool in a blog. If your title is not effective and appealing, there would be no clicks on the site. Even if they do click, very soon they will bounce off the website. The user should be intrigued to click on the website. To gain the attention of the reader, try to include the words like “how to”, “secret”, “mistakes” and “list”. For example,

How to create your own home garden?

Common mistakes while designing your living room.

20 inspirational ideas to design your kitchen.

Add links to your blog post

Mentioning other blogs with links is a useful trick to increase the ranking of your site. It is a noble practice in fact you may get a chance of getting a link back. Quality links are not only a valuable commodity but really helps in ranking the site higher.

Use of social media

You might already have a hunch about this but yes, social websites can also be utilized for other useful purposes instead of just endless scrolling. Why not promote your own blog through your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Conclusion

Blog posts are time-consuming. So, if you are blogging make sure that it continues to drive organic traffic and it should rank higher in search engines.

At one time or another, you’ve probably thought, “I really want to improve my business’ website.” There’s always room for improvement, after all, and you have some big ideas about how you could drive more visitors to your digital platform. Your mind is in the right place, but how will you know you’ve succeeded unless you set some website goals?

Website objectives can act as a waypoint, empowering to you envision what future success looks like. With an endpoint in mind, you can begin to take steps towards bringing those objectives to your live website. If your website goals are specific, actionable, and audience-focused, you’ll find that your website can become a core tool towards driving engagement and sales for your business.

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block; text-align:center;"
     data-ad-layout="in-article"
     data-ad-format="fluid"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-6226012631321881"
     data-ad-slot="7981407979"></ins>

All things said you can take your business website in a variety of directions depending on your marketing goals and objectives. However, these 4 website goals have a broad appeal and take into account several factors that business website managers across the board should consider as they strive to improve their website strategy:

Goal #1: Take Steps to Improve Search Ranking

While absolutely every modern internet user is familiar with Google searching from a user perspective, few are familiar with how Google trolls the broader internet and organizes the results it finds. These “search rankings” are based upon several actionable metrics, each of which can help your website content appear higher in Google’s search results.

Source: https://www.ezoic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/from-here-7.jpg

First and foremost, do some research and learn more about what search engine optimization (SEO) means for your business. In many cases, SEO requires business websites to match the language of their website to the expectations of its prospective visitors. One way to accomplish this is by completing preliminary market research and identifying keywords that can be naturally slotted into your business website’s primary content.

Another option is to include more “backlinks” within published content on your website. In simple terms, backlinks are any type of link you make within your content to other webpages, including your own. These backlinks create a web of interconnectivity that search engine algorithms appreciate.

Goal #2: Find a Reliable Web Host

Because of the very nature of website hosting and the process required to switch from one host to another, many website administrators put off the task until a critical breaking point is reached. But instead of waiting until a serious problem like insecurity or untenable costs arise, you should make it a goal to find new, more reliable web hosting as soon as possible.

All web hosts are not created equal, especially when you begin to take features and costs into account. While comparing web hosts, be sure to find an option that provides up-to-date security protocols, as well as access to a knowledgeable customer support service 24/7. For costs, try to find a hosting option that provides cost-effective introductory pricing that transitions into manageable billing afterwards.

Finding a more reliable web host is not the kind of goal you should put low on your priority list. Instead, you should make it a goal to strike while the iron is hot and take advantage of everything a modern web host has to offer. Remember that the longer you wait to complete this goal, the more likely you are to run into undesirable performance issues on your website.

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-6226012631321881"
     data-ad-slot="7785194054"
     data-ad-format="auto"
     data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>

Goal #3: Decrease Bounce Rate

In website terms, a “bounce” occurs when a visitor toggles to your website (often the homepage) and jumps ship before traversing any further into your website. As is obvious, this phenomenon creates an overall poor retention rate that makes it near impossible to engage new customers and drive sales online. If you’ve noticed a preponderance of bounces in your website metrics, then you should swiftly make it a goal to decrease your website’s bounce rate.

Depending on your current bounce rate, you should set a quantifiable goal for lowering said bounce rate. For example, digital market analysts generally agree that 10% bounce rate is desirable for websites trying to capture customers online. In order to quantitatively track this goal, you can monitor your website’s bounce rate using Google Analytics (if you are not already using it).

There are also several optimizations you can make to improve the chances that a new website visitor hangs around for further engagement. From a technical standpoint, you should strive to improve your page load times (including on mobile platforms). A large portion of internet users that abandon a website do so in the first several seconds, so it is essential that your content appear at their fingertips within seconds of their request for it.

Goal #4: Create Fresh Content that Drives Engagement

More than any other factor, your website’s content speaks directly to the business it represents. If your core content is information-rich, authoritative, and fully unique, you can bet that you’ll see traffic to your website increase in short order. With this in mind, you should also set a website objective to refresh your website content creation process.

Source: https://www.gomage.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_fresh_content.png

One way many business websites today output fresh content is through regular blogging. Whether these blogs are focused on your business’ services or on your industry at large, you should always strive to provide novel content that is both creative and contemporarily relevant. Google’s rankings appreciate both factors, allowing a well-crafted blog post to act as entry point for prospective customers scrolling through search results.

If you’re struggling to decide what to blog about, consider making a long list of topics that you possess expertise in and then supplement this list with other topics that are currently relevant to your industry. After narrowing down your list, you can begin to populate an editorial calendar that will keep your content output consistent going forward.

Website Goals Will Drive Your Business Further

In so many words, setting website goals is essential to reenergizing your website and allowing it to drive both sales and engagement in the digital marketplace. While the goals you set may take extra time and resources to complete, know that every minute you expend in accomplishing your website objectives may soon pay dividends when your website traffic takes off like a rocket.

If you need to import your products via a CSV file to your Shopify store, you can simply head over to Products section and click on Import button. This feature will give you the options to import your products via a CSV file.

But the only problem comes when you want to import large quantity of products to your Shopify store because this might make the CSV file’s size larger than 15 MB. and Shopify won’t let you import CSV files larger than 15 MB. If you try that, you’ll face the following error: The supplied file is too large to be imported.

There are some Shopify apps such as Excelify that you can try but what if you need to edit your CSV file after you upload it to your store? Because not every supplier will provide CSV files that are customized for Shopify format. I thought about it and came to the conclusion of making large CSV files into smaller “splits” so I can upload my smaller files one by one instead of trying to import a huge CSV file.

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block; text-align:center;"
     data-ad-layout="in-article"
     data-ad-format="fluid"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-6226012631321881"
     data-ad-slot="8848110854"></ins>

There’s an open-source software called CSV Chunker (free download) to make big CSV files into smaller “splits” without changing its format or messing up with the rows etc.

After you download the software from the above link, just run the CSV File Chunker.exe and then upload your large CSV file. Let’s say your file contains 4000 products, so you can type 2000 Lines Per File and this will make 2 smaller size CSV files that you can upload to your Shopify store one by one.

Don’t forget to check First Line is Header option

The software will create a folder named split at the same location that your large CSV is in (for example if you upload your file to CSV Chunker from your desktop, the software will create a folder named split in your desktop). This is an easy way to import large CSV files to Shopify.

What are SSL Certificates?

An SSL certificate is a security tool that enables you to engage in activities like e-commerce or other information communications requiring security. An SSL certificate assures consumers that their information is encrypted and will not be compromised or misused.

What is 40-bit vs. 128-bit?

128-bit encryption, by far the safest and is industry standard for online merchants, banks, as well as anyone in need of secure transactions via the Web worldwide. 40-bit encryption is usually ideal for security-sensitive intranets, and extranets.

How long is the set up process?

SSL provides that only authenticate the Domain Name validity use an automated service therefore you usually can have your certificate the same day. Other Providers who authenticate both the Domain Name and the Company Legibility take anywhere from the same day to up to 5 business days.

What is Identity validation?

Most SSL Providers will authenticate both the Domain Name and The Company or Organization itself. Authentication of both gives consumers the added assurance that they are disclosing their private information to a legit company.

What is Browser Compatibility?

If you use an SSL Certificate that has low browser acceptance (i.e. only supports Internet Explorer) other browser users will have warning messages displayed that the Certificate is not valid, this in turn might stop them from making a purchase or providing further information.

To avoid such warnings select an SSL Provider with a high browser acceptance level in most major browsers such as: Microsoft IE 4+,Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox

How to Check if Your SSL Certificate is Installed Properly?

Making sure if your SSL certificate is installed properly and trusted by popular browsers is important for the peace of mind. You can visit WebsitePlanet’s SSL checker and easily search your domain’s SSL certificate validity. You can see if everything is correct with your SSL certificate including certificate details, server details, certificate chain. You can also download these information as PDF.

What is Warranty?

Some SSL certificates are backed by Warranty Protection Plans that protects the SSL Certificate customers against loss resulting from the theft, corruption, impersonation, or misuse of a certificate. The coverage varies for different SSL Provider.

Customer support?

Providers will differ on the amount of support they offer and their effectiveness in helping you when required – most providers will offer both telephone, and email for technical related as well as general inquiries To ensure prompt responses and solutions you should check the providers hours of support and time zone.

Refund Policy and Reissue Policy?

You should always check the refund and reissue policy before purchasing
a Certificate. In case if you decide to cancel the service you may want to know if you are entitled to refunds, refund policies differ for SSL providers from a 30-day refund policy to no refund at all.

In the case of loss or technical errors to your certificate you will want to know the policy regarding a reissue, most major providers will offer a free reissue if the loss occurred within 30 days of initial setup.

You might be wondering why your domain is giving you “Your connection to this site is not fully secure Attackers might be able to see the images you’re looking at on this site and trick you by modifying them.” warning on Chrome browser. You are not alone. But fortunately there is a solution for this.

Why Do I See This Error?

Even though you have SSL installed on for your domain, you can see this error and this simply means your website contains “http” links on its pages. You can even see this error on some pages instead of every page. It can be an image that’s linked to an external url starts with “http” instead of “https”. We don’t want “http” links in our site so to eliminate this SSL error, we need to “fix” these “http” links.

Easy Solution For “Attackers might be able to see the images…” SSL Error

If your website was built with WordPress, simply download free Better Search Replace plugin, install and activate it on your website.
